Dear families of GPSS,

Today, staff were made aware of some graffiti inside school property that was threatening in nature and made reference to an act of violence. The message read, “Watch out Glenview. Gun shooting Thursday March 29.” This threat was reported to the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) and they are currently investigating to determine the author of the message.

Our staff and student safety and well-being is a top priority and we are working closely with the Waterloo Regional Police Service.

We want to reiterate the statements from our board that it is unacceptable to make threats towards anyone. Our students have the right to learn in a safe environment without fear. No matter the intention, we take any threat of violence seriously and the authors of these threats will be held accountable.
