Course Descriptions
Grade 9 Geography:
As Canada is the second largest country in the world (in area), there are many physical, economic and cultural differences that range from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast. In order to better understand these differences it is important to examine the geographic connections of our country at both the regional and national scale. This course offers regional studies that cover a variety of geography topics
Grade 11 Travel and Tourism:
This course focuses on issues related to travel and tourism in various regions of the world. Students will investigate unique environmental, sociocultural, economic, and political characteristics of selected world regions. They will explore travel patterns and trends, as well as tensions related to tourism, and will predict future tourism destinations.
Grade 12 World Issues:
In this course, students will address the challenge of creating a more sustainable and equitable world. They will explore issues involving a wide range of topics, including economic disparities, threats to the environment, globalization, human rights, and will analyze government policies, international agreements, and individual responsibilities relating to them.
