The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is pleased to encourage Grade 9 student participation on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in Take Our Kids to Work 2024.

About Take Our Kids to Work Day

Take Our Kids to Work Day (TOKTW) has a long history of being a successful opportunity for students to gain real world experience in the workplace. TOKTW also connects families and caregivers and their Grade 9 students in a day full of fun and career exploration. Grade 9 students can spend the day in the workplace of a parent/guardian, relative, friend or colleague job shadowing. If your student does not wish to participate, they may go to school and attend their regular classes.

Participating students should return the completed parent/guardian/caregiver permission form to the main office (form shared in the Panther Proud Google Classroom.)

The WRDSB is supporting TOKTW in partnership with The Students Commission of Canada (SCC). To support educators, families, and employers in executing TOKW programming, SCC will develop resource guides with tools, agendas, and activities for both in-person and virtual experiences, available in English and French.

To access the resources, you will need to register. To register, visit the SCC website and scroll to the bottom of the page to complete the registration information.
