Welcome to the 2020-21 school year!  A special “welcome aboard” to our Grade 9 Panthers, and a big “welcome back” to our returning Panthers.  We are looking forward to meeting you and connecting with you (either in person or digitally) soon!

As we approach the start of this school year, you probably have many questions.  We know that anticipating this September’s return to school has been challenging for many students and parents.  Please know that we are working around the clock to ensure your return to school is safe and meaningful.  

No doubt you can appreciate that many aspects of school will be different this year; we are in the process of finalizing much of that information.  

Next week (August 31 to September 4), we will use both School Day and the GPSS website to share detailed information on the following topics:

  • COVID-19 safety protocols (self-screening, masks, physical distancing, hand hygiene, etc) 
  • Arriving at school (assigned entrances, parking, bus drop-off, late arrival)
  • Front Parking Lot Renovation (which will impact arriving at school procedures)
  • Directional movement in the school
  • Personal Belongings and Lockers
  • Lunch
  • Hydration Stations (water bottle fillers)
  • Chromebooks
  • Quadmester Format & Daily Schedule

All students who have opted for the adaptive/hybrid model of learning (except students in our ACE or congregated classes) will be placed in one of two “cohorts”.   Please be cautioned that it will be several days yet before we are able to tell students which cohort they are in.
