Course Offerings:
AMI1OI Beginner and Experienced Instrumental Music
This course is offered for students with OR without previous experience on a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument. Units of study include large/small ensembles, solo performances (that develop musical skills and technique), and theory and analysis. Repertoire is chosen according to the student’s skill level.
AMI2OI Grade 10 Instrumental Music
Students will continue to develop musical literacy skills by using the creative and critical analysis processes in performance and a range of reflective and analytical activities. This is a performance-based course.
AMI1OI is recommeneded but not required.
AMU3MI Grade 11 Instrumental Music
This course provides students with opportunities to continue to develop their musical literacy through the creation, appreciation, analysis, and performance of music, including traditional, commercial, and art music. This is a performance-based course.
AMI1O OR AMI2O
AMU4MI Grade 12 Instrumental Music
This course enables students to enhance their musical literacy through the creation, appreciation, analysis, and performance of music. Students will perform traditional, commercial, and art music. Students will enhance their understanding of the function of music in society and the impact of music.
AMU3M
AMV1OI Grade 9 Vocal Music
This is a performance-based course that emphasizes the creation and performance of music at a level consistent with or without previous experience and is aimed at developing technique, sensitivity, and imagination.
Note: This course may be combined with grade 10, 11 and 12 vocal music.
AMV2OI Grade 10 Vocal Music
Students will continue to develop musical literacy skills by using the creative and critical analysis processes in performance and a range of reflective and analytical activities. This is a performance-based course.
This course may be combined with grade 9, 11 and 12 vocal music.
AMV1OI is recommended but not required.
AMV3MI Grade 11 Vocal Music

Students will develop musical literacy skills by using the creative and critical analysis processes in composition, performance, and a range of reflective and analytical activities. This course is developed and recommended for beginners only.
AMG3OI Grade 11 Guitar
This course develops students’ musical literacy through performance and the preparation and presentation of music productions. Students will perform works at a level consistent with previous experience. This is a performance-based course.
