The beginning of Quadmester four in the Secondary Distance Learning Program (SDLP) in the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) will begin on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Here’s what the first few days will look like.
SDLP teachers will be online to welcome students on the morning of Thursday, April 22. Instructions for the first virtual meet for the course will be posted by the teacher in the D2L Brightspace classroom or by email. During this first meeting, the teacher will provide an overview of their course, and share what to expect in the Secondary Distance Learning Program (SDLP).
Students who log in to the D2L Brightspace WRDSB portal will be able to see their classes for Quadmester 4. The Quadmester 4 class for Thursday will open on Thursday morning. Before the morning of April 22, students will see the classes but be unable to enter.
For students who are unable to log in on Thursday, the teacher will follow up with a phone call to assist with any technology needs or problem-solving. Please remember to refer to Tech@Home for troubleshooting tips.
For families who requested technology-free learning, distance learning teachers will make a phone call to connect and discuss daily schedules and how materials will be received and returned.

The SDLP Digital Code of Conduct provides guidance for our students and their online activities related to their learning. It includes a commitment for students to protect and respect both themselves and others in their online behaviours.
Expectations in the SDLP Digital Code of Conduct align with the Board’s Digital Citizenship and Character Development initiative concerning general conduct across the system. Character Development is the positive social and emotional development of students that is modelled by all staff and is a key element in fostering a positive, inclusive system and school climate. All technology, information, and resources, and their use, must clearly support these Board goals.

Distance learning is a new experience for parents and caregivers, students and staff. To ensure a positive experience for all, we ask that parents and caregivers adhere to the Code of Conduct for Parents and Caregivers of Students Learning from a Distance.
